But I didn’t arrive at this enlightened state from the practice of Zen, meditation or any of that stuff.
I got here from 20 long years of CONSTANTLY being humbled.
Time after time after time.
You see, if you keep stepping up to bat and swinging for the fences with all your might, it’s just natural that you’re gonna strike out most of the time.
BUT... those times when you actually DO smash the ball and get a grand slam home run...
Wow. Life changing.
Problem is, most people can’t emotionally handle what always appears to be a non-stop streak of strikeouts. (Gawd, I frickin’ LOVE illiteration.)
Another problem is this:
If you’ve got a lot of experience, that very well could be the exact thing that’s keeping you from the big breakthroughs.
Limiting you to only hitting singles.
Maybe doubles if you’re lucky.

Actually, it wasn’t that long ago everybody was predicting that the Internet was going to kick TV’s ass. And TV would soon go the way of the dinosaur.
But my how things have changed.
Most of the Internet guys still don’t get it.
But the “old skool” TV guys got it all figured out. And they’re making a ton of money on TV AND online.
The Internet guys got stuck in a box... and it looks like they’re gonna pay dearly for it.
Yes, I realize this isn’t the typical stuff you hear from me. I’m a copywriter and online marketer. My only project I ran on TV back when I was a rookie in the 90’s crashed and burned and I lost all my money. I haven’t even dipped my toe into those waters since that experience.

And Miles Davis is one of my favoritejazz innovators.
He was one of the leading figures in the bebop movement.
Then he became a leading figure in the fusion movement in the 60’s. (All the jazz traditionalist snobs hated him for this.)
Miles had an interesting belief about jazz.
A belief that was technically wrong. But Miles could make what was wrong, soooooright.

What does the low budget and campy movie from 1988 called “They Live”, starring Rowdy Roddy Piper, have to do with your success?

I didn’t expect THIS.
One of the most successful infomercial marketers in the world, Brad Richdale, agreed to talk marketing on my podcast.
I was super stoked.
But Brad had different ideas.
I don’t know why. I think his intuition just told him marketing wasn’t what the K9 crew needed most.

Or some stupid simple formula that would let me turn on the traffic like a fire hose.
